DESCRIPTION: gerry has reported a vulnerability in D-Link DIR-615, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to the device allowing unrestricted access to the “apply.cgi” script. This can be exploited to e.g. change the administrator password via a specially crafted HTTP request.

The vulnerability is reported in firmware version 3.10NA. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION: Restrict network access to trusted users only.
