DESCRIPTION: A vulnerability and a weakness have been reported in DotNetNuke, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and disclose potentially sensitive information.

1) Certain unspecified input passed to the search parameters is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited go execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user’s browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 4.8 through 5.1.4.

2) A weakness is caused due to the install wizard insecurely displaying certain pages containing version information.

The weakness is reported in versions 4.0 through 5.1.4.

SOLUTION: Update to version 5.2.0 or later.
