IBM solidDB Database Service Denial of Service

DESCRIPTION: Damián Frizza has reported a vulnerability in IBM solidDB, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the solidDB server (solid.exe) when processing TCP packets. This can be exploited to terminate the service via a specially crafted packet sent to TCP port 2315, containing an invalid error code.

The vulnerability is reported in IBM solidDB Server 6.30.0.29 and 6.30.0.33. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION: Reportedly fixed in IBM solidDB Server Fix Pack 3 (6.3.37).
